Midtylland vs SonderjyskE

Today’s featured game is the Danish Superligaen encounter between Midtylland and SonderjyskE. Midtylland have had a poor season by their standards but look to be making good progress following their return from the winter break. Visitors SonderjyskE have struggled to stay in this division for a few seasons now and I think they will struggle again this season despite the large gap between themselves and Randers as I expect a good second half of the campaign for Randers.

Midtylland have played three games since returning from the winter break and have been superb in all of them, winning twice and drawing once. They’ve scored six times and conceded just twice. Midtylland claimed a 2-2 draw at home to high-flying OB Odense but have won their last two games consecutively at home to Aalborg BK and away to Silkeborg – two difficult games – so they’re certainly playing well at the moment. Midtylland have already won six out of eleven home games this season despite it not being their best season so it’s fair to assume that they’ll be a force in this game too, particularly with momentum supporting their cause.

Visitors SonderjyskE have lost five out of eleven away games this season, which isn’t incriminating but does show that sides have to work hard to break them down. Only Randers have scored less goals in the Superligaen than SonderjyskE so it’s fair to say that SonderjyskE are very much a ”stopper” side rather than an advocate of the beautiful game. SonderjyskE have had a tough run of games since returning from the winter break but have claimed credible results at Brondby and OB Odense although neither side were on-fire at the time. SonderjyskE were brought back down to earth last match with FC Copenhagen winning 2-0 at SonderjyskE so they should be prepared for more of the same today against an in-form Midtylland. SonderjyskE simply aren’t as good a side as Midtylland and I expect that to show tonight.

You won’t often see odds as short as this as a recommended value bet on this site but I feel that it’s real value when measuring up the two sides as Midtylland really should be at least 1/2 to win this game – they’re by far the better side – don’t let a bad season put you off backing what should be a very clear home win tonight.

Verdict: Midtylland to win at 8/11.

      • where do you bet mate? im at hills. they have given me 1.33 for the double, im lumping on this one, £500 for a return of £1166.67

        good luck fella!!

  1. going to try and sneak out for a single on al ahly @ 4/6 or al faysaly @ 4/7 – neither are truly great value but will keep the afternoon ticking by

might invest my money on raymond van barneveld @ 5/6 in the darts rather than football tonight but will think more later

  2. saying that considering kavala are 3-1 down in the first leg of the cup – a home win @ 6/4 is very good value surely with their impressive home record ?

    • Nah. Randers are much better than their league place indicates, they’ve played well since the winter break and aren’t conceding. AGF don’t travel well, they’re conceding for fun and have lost some stupid games since returning from the winter break. Verdict – 1X, under 2.5 goals

      • ok – i thought they were a bit of a danish west brom in the yoyo department but yes agf have nosedived since the first 8 or 10 games – i still wouldnt go near a home win at them odds though ?

          • smug bastard ian lol – i had a flick at esbjerg too as they were 5/2 – it was a stupid call but the odds looked really good for their home record ! i was excited at 1-0 but it quickly went shits up ! – thinking of a sabbattical as a few bad days !

  3. i’m going for a treble of litex, grasshoppers and man utd reserves tonight! good luck everyone

  4. Ian what do you think of the R.Madrid/Getafe game? ive got a feeling Real are in for a tough match tonight. Real have only beaten getafe 3 times outta the last 10 games and Getafe are having quite a decent season so far, Ive got a felling that Getafe might sneak a draw tonight!!

any info would be good mate, thanks

  5. Hi guys!!
Im spanish, I read you from long time…thanks everybody.
Phils, If I were you, I wouldnt risk money on R.Madrid match tonight. Getafe is a hard team for Real, always rock front Real. In my opinion, Getafe is a team more weak than others years and Real is obligated to win tonight if They want the tittle but….Getafe is always hard for Real..a dangerous neighbour. Dont risk very much on it,mate

    • thats what i was thinking Diego, I know Real have scored a lot of goals but they havent got a very good record against Getafe. time will tell, im probably wrong! haha

might put a sneaky bet on the draw at 4/1 depending on how my other teams are doing

  6. I can only echo what Diego Sanchez has said – welcome btw mate!

Getafe are a tough side to play against, particularly at home. This game is bigger for Getafe rivalry-wise than it is for Real Madrid, which makes it interesting. These two sides have some history between them with Real Madrid beating them last season despite Pepe’s embarassing and ridiculous antics. Getafe will always give Real Madrid a run for their money, particularly at home, and Getafe often have players signed from Real Madrid that want to make a big impact against their “parent club”. Real Madrid aren’t as good as people think – they simply score goals due to the continued brilliance of Ronaldo, who is too good for this league, and the emerging Higuain. The rest are good or even very good players but don’t make a good team. They struggle against sides that play as a team i.e. Lyon, Athletic Bilbao, Barcelona etc. so I wouldn’t back them here. I expect a lot of goals in this game but wouldn’t bet on the outcome.

    Good luck if you do

    • thanks Ian your info is always appreicated(spelling??)

might have a look aat the draw option if my swiss teams are doing well

are you betting today at all mate?

      • Not especially, not much takes my fancy. I’ve had a punt on Midtylland in-play but SonderjyskE look to have bedded in for the night. I might nibble on Athletic to win at Atletico or even laying the hosts but not much else.

  7. going to put £100 stake on the A.Madrid/Bilbao game, put it on the draw at 12/5

got £2401 bankroll after todays nice win, building it up nicely…

  8. Good luck, Phil. I decided against backing Bilbao tonight after finding out that Amorebieta misses out – he’s their best defender by far. San Jose will be good but is still young and Ustaritz can be rather unreliable. Bilbao are also missing a suspended Orbaiz so Iturraspe replaces him, which also bothers me as he’s young and lacking in experience too. Gurpegi will help him if he can say on the field but Bilbao look weak in attack tonight with only Gabilondo supplying Llorente with crosses. Toquero will drift out to the flank to help Iraola so won’t be much use to Llorente.

Bluntly, I’m a bit concerned for Bilbao at the moment. They’ve got ample players on the bench to turn this around but why they’re not attacking an Atletico side that cannot defend is beyond me. Yeste, Muniain, Lopez, and Susaeta can all put this game in Athletic’s favour attacking-wise but they’re all on the bench for some inane reason.

Instincts now say Atletico to lead at half-time but Bilbao to draw level second-half and maybe even win it if they play their cards right.

    • ive got my fingers crossed for a drab 0-0 to be honest Ian haha, i kinda hoping that these two teams cancel each other out! im praying for a goaless game…

      • Goalless games in a hispanic country?! You must have drank some strong shit tonight, amigo!! ;)

You might get a 1-1 but I doubt it’ll be goalless. Bilbao will try to attack Atletico at somepoint and they’re usually good when they do but also inept at the back so a goal will come somewhere, I’m sure.

I hope little Iker Muniain comes on though – one of the best youngsters in the world game currently. Watch him if you haven’t seen him already. I didn’t see Messi when he was coming through the Barca ranks but Muniain is what I imagined he was like.

        • Bilbao will ride it out till half time then after the break im sure they’ll attack as Madrid tire… im still hoping for a drab 0-0 haha

  9. tomorrows bet is Metz, Caen, Lyon, S.Lisbon @8.51

    stake £150 for a return of £1427.05

    good luck everyone
