  1. TO me i think Grumeio prudente is more likely to win this game because in Brazil being at home all teams have like 75 chances of taking the game.another disaagreement is agame btn santos and Botafogo there is no draw santos my brother santos is taking the game.

  2. Nothing football wise interests me today so im doing a double on the Shanghai Masters snooker…..
Junhui D and Selby M. EVENS.

    Roll on the weekend coupon!!!

    • I’m on the same double in the snooker as I don’t really like any foot all beta today.

I might take a santos/vasco double later depending on his the snooker goes.

I’m probably going to lump a fair amount on a treble of fulham, Newcastle and spurs at the weekend. I Like all 3 selections, all of which are priced slightly higher than I expected and will most likely fall between now and Saturday.

  3. Well there certainly weren’t 4 goals in that Toronto game… Hope nobody lost too much on that one. unfortunately I lost a little, nothing serious…

I’m currently watching highlights of the Women’s U17 world cup hahaha, these girls are pretty bloody good (apart from the South African team). Their defending was absolutely shit in their 10-1 defeat against Germany.

For anyone bored later fancying a little punt, having watched the highlights, I fancy Spain to beat New Zealand comfortably tonight. Spain and Germany are just a class above the rest in this tournament it seems.

    Spain ht/ft @ 1.8
    Spain -1.25 AH @ 1.625

    • The odds for Spain were just 11/1 on William Hill. I think they got the odds the wrong way around because New Zealand were 1/6. They’ve switched it now though but if I had known it was a mistake on their part then I’d have stuck everything on it. :(

  4. One accy for me today.

    Argentinos Juniors – Independiente: 1X
Universitario de Sucre – Cerro Porteño: 1X
    Santos – Botafogo: 1X
    Örgryte IS – Sundsvall: X2
    New Zealand – Spain: 2
    Vasco – Atlético-MG: 1

    Odds: 6.40

  5. I must say that I’m very tempted to stick the £15.56 that I’ve won so far on Vasco da Gama to get £25.93 back. It’s a big gamble though and I feel as though I might have to back the draw as well if I was going to take it but then it wouldn’t really be worth it as I’d only make less than a fiver. I’ll have to wait and give it some thought though. What’s everyone’s opinion on the game?

    • I agree, on my accy this is the game that I am most worried about, I am quite sure Sundvall will make a draw against Örgryte but that is the risk game number 2.

Vasco game could so easily end in a draw and it is a game that you should do a double change 1X on, but the odds for the double change is so low that it is really not worth it like you say.

The reason why I decided to back the home win:

      1. Vasco has won 6 out of 8 games at home, they have won 4 in a row.
      2. Vasco has scored in last 5 game, in last 30 home game they have scored in 24 games, so they are going to score in this game.
      3. Atlético Mineiro is not scoring goals and specially away from home, they scored in last game against very poor team but before that they had not scored away in 6 away games. Vasco is quite good in defence and does on conceive many goals at home.
      4. Atlético Mineiro has a tendency to loose away or make a 0 – 0, Vasco has scored in 5 games in a row at home, very strong argument for a home win here.

This game is not going to end 0 – 0 and Atlético Mineiro is not going to win and based on that I think Vasco is going to win. I think it will be 1 – 0 or 2 – 0.

Risky bet but all the statistics point to win here for Vasco.

    • You got your draw in the GIF Sundsvall match then. :)

Yeah, I think Vasco da Gama should win but Hermovich has alerted us that they are missing a few key players so that’s why I’m having doubts.

    • I don’t know what lineup the coach really would like to have (what players are the most important) but at Vasco you can easily switch players.

Ze Roberto has played 7 games
Carlos Alberto has played 5 games
      Felipe has played 6 games

so I think they are not so important, the team can surely play without them.

There are many midfieldar in the team that has played more games. Players like: Rafael Carioca (17), Nilton (16), Romulo (10).

So I think the team is strong enough to beat Atlético Mineiro.

  6. hey guts. barren day for soccer so i turn to american football. i love it :D saints tonite to beat the handicap at 10/11. most places have it at -4.5 which the saints offence will def do. also the overs looks good. 48.5 total points which i hink shud happen wit 2 of the best offences in nfl. also 10/11. best of luck guys

  7. Vasco odds have shortened to 4/5 which indicates the game might be abit more tricky than first expected. Fingers crossed for Vasco!!!

  8. Call me stupid (I think I might be) but I’ve put the whole £15.56 on a trio of Spain Women U17, Brazil Women U17 & Vasco da Gama Or Draw at odds of nearly evens. I get £29.32 back if it comes off, and I’ll be praying that it does because I don’t know whether it’s clever or just completely stupid. I fear it’s the latter but I’ve gone with my instincts, like I have the last few days to get to where I am now so hopefully it pays off. :/

  9. i dont think anyone could call you stupid mate. uve turned a quid into 15 and counting!

ive taken vasco for the win, with a smaller stake -1.5 goals handicap. good feeling they will do it with ease to be honest. 1-0 2-0..

    • I don’t like the handicap. I love Gusmao and the amazing job he’s done there but Vasco are not a goalscoring side by nature so be very careful not to fall into a bookie trap here. Mineiro aren’t that bad – they just don’t travel too well. Who knows how not playing home games of late may have helped them adapt to that fact?

Dodgy game – I’d take the home win in-play though, perhaps if it hits evens.

    • Yeah, and I’ve covered the draw as well just in case. If the Women’s matches come through then I’ll feel a lot more relaxed. Spain and Brazil should win but you just never know.

  10. just a side bet on the handicap, only 10% of the stake i put on vasco to win outright. great tipping last night on brazil games ian :). although i took gremio/fluminese double which paid less than your pick of sao paulo/flu!

out of interest, how long has this site been going? ive been following gooners guide (delete this part if u want/need to) for 10 years. this is better though!

    • Cheers mate :) Brazil has been kind to me this year.

A few years or so now. I’d love to be able to do it full-time and hopefully can do someday in the near future.

  11. Just a quick treble i fancy…

Chacarita Juniors v Almirante Brown – Under 2.5

Vasco da Gama v Atletico Mineiro – Vasco Win

Real Mamore v Bolivar – Bolivar Win

    £20 on £114 return

    • No problem with you posting your thoughts mate but I don’t want links to other sites in the comments section to view other previews. Feel free to copy and paste it here if you so desire but I don’t want links like this on the comment section :) Cheers mate
