Rubbish

What a bizarre night of football! I think the weather did more talking than the football last night, particularly in the quagmire (both physically and in terms of the referee!) that was Lithuania vs Serbia and the snowstorm that was Poland vs Serbia – no real idea how Serbia and Poland emerged with no points from their respective games, having been the better sides. Then we witness crazy shit like Faroe Islands scoring away from home, Kazakhstan nearly drawing with Croatia, Germany failing to even beat Finland at home, Russia drawing at Azerbaijan, Estonia beating Belgium, Northern Ireland drawing at Czech Republic etc. etc.

Basically, if you made money last night, my congratulations go to you! Admittedly, I’m writing this prior to the majority of the South American and North American games but the European section has been a disappointment.

Racing Club Avellaneda vs Boca Juniors

Today’s featured game is the Primera Division encounter between Racing Club Avellaneda and Boca Juniors. Neither side has entered this season particularly well thus it’s unsurprising that both sides linger in the bottom half of the table. Hosts Racing Club Avellaneda are the only side in the Primera Division that is left without a single victory in this campaign as they’ve drawn four games and lost three. They’re not conceding many goals but they’ve scored less goals than everyone else in the division, hence the problem. They currently average just under a goal every two games, which obviously isn’t good enough. Worryingly, Racing Club Avellaneda’s form has taken a turn for the worse lately, somehow, as they’ve now lost two consecutive games. Visitors Boca Juniors have struggled an awful lot this season as their record of two wins in seven games clearly indicates. Their impressive victory against an imposing Velez Sarsfeld last game was vital, not only for the prevention of their fourth successive defeat but also to act as a catalyst for their campaign. It does need to be said that this victory did come with a little fortune as anyone who watched the game will know but sometimes that’s all you need to get yourselves going. It’s good to see Martin Palermo and Juan Roman Riquelme getting back amongst the goals again as this is frankly a pivotal part of Boca Juniors’ football. Although they’ve not been winning as many games as they’d have liked, Boca Juniors have been scoring a lot of goals, something that hosts Racing Club Avellaneda simply cannot do at the moment. Althoguh I expect a tight game here, I think Boca Juniors will have taken a lot of momentum from their essential victory last match and will approach this game with fresh vigour. Racing Club Avellaneda have zero momentum at the moment and don’t have the goals to get them out of their current placing. Therefore, I think the away win at 13/10 does boast significant enough value for it to be a worthwhile bet for you all!
