Dynamo Kiev have a wealth of tradition behind them and bags of experience but they’re facing a side that is notoriously hard to score against. I’ve watched Kiev a few times now and their lack of width should cause them problems in games like this. They’ve got a bit of momentum from recent results but with Shevchenko not 100% yet they still lack a natural finisher, in my view. Stoke are missing a few players for this game but Pulis’ side always function as a unit, irrespective of who plays. This is far from an easy game as it’s at a difficult venue against a very experienced side but I think Stoke can hold Kiev here so laying the hosts at evens looks interesting today.

Fun, fun, fun! Ireland has long been a very hard place to travel as an away side and many different sides can testify that. Irish sides are so tenacious that it’s unbelievable so I fancy them to cause an injury-hit and rather weary Rubin side some problems today. The visitors are not prolific goalscorers anyway so I don’t think they’ll end up winning this one by more than one goal, if at all. Shamrock are plucky and hard to beat, however, so I think they can cause an upset here, just as they did against Partizan Belgrade, and the odds of giving them a +1 Asian Handicap make this look interesting today.

Paris Saint-Germain vs Salzburg – away win with +1.5 handicap at 4/5.

I know how much PSG have spent on players pre-season – very good players, too – but they’re not a good team yet. They lack cohesion, they don’t create enough chances, and generally are looking to Pastore to carry them. It won’t be this way forever but that’s how they’re playing at the moment and that’s why they’re generally playing in low-scoring games. Salzburg have become stronger since Pasanen joined their defence and they’ll set up in a rigid 4-5-1 here to nullify PSG, no doubt. They could score a cheeky draw here as PSG just don’t do enough in front of goal. If PSG do win it then I don’t see it being by many unless they play better in this game than they have in any other that I’ve seen them in so far this season. For me, there’s value on Salzburg +1.5 at 4/5.
