Also – please allow me to introduce the new holders of the English League Cup in Manchester United. Yes, this has been confirmed by Arsenal’s exit from the competition thanks to yet another scalp from giant-killers Burnley. The remaining sides in the competition mean United can hardly fail to win this trophy. Their opponents are Derby County, Burnley, and Watford/Tottenham Hotspur. Yes, that’s right - I don’t believe Blackburn Rovers will pose us any kind of threat tomorrow evening. Famous last words, perhaps, but I’ll be surprised if the result isn’t favouring the home side given the current situation with both clubs respectively.

Yep, I Think It’s Fair To Say…

…that I did rather well on my UEFA Cup picks. A couple of mishaps but that’s usually the case anywhere anytime. I also think Standard de Liege got a great result and are a potential dark horse for the UEFA Cup this season. I also think Portsmouth got a real introduction to Europe tonight by thinking a game was over at 2-0 against one of the world’s best sides – that’s just silly. By all rights, Portsmouth should have lost that game had Inzaghi had a bit more luck on his side. Who do I fancy for the UEFA Cup though? Hard to say until the Champs League dropouts emerge, but currently my eyes are on Standard de Liege, CSKA Moscow, AC Milan, and Sevilla.
